It occurred to me, recently, this fashion editorial photo shoot I had with Jacqueline was also a high school senior portraits session as well.
My Approach is the Same
Jacqueline is a model based in Austin, Texas, where she also attends high school. She’d approached me through Instagram about setting up a fashion editorial photo shoot in Marfa, Texas. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule due to her parents schedule changing last minute.
I wanted to keep things simple, and local. We picked a location that made it easy for her to get to after school and her parents to attend without conflicting with their schedule.
Jacqueline and I had been sharing ideas through a Pinterest board for weeks. We both knew exactly what we wanted to get from our session. This young woman arrived at modeling as a means of empowering herself after facing challenges that beset any young woman in her teens.
Jacqueline brought along a stylist while her father assisted me with traffic awareness and her mom made sure her daughter had everything she needed for this session to turn out to be a complete success.
It doesn’t matter how old you are, young or old, we all need proof for ourselves of who we are and Jacqueline’s gaze reveals just how strong she is.
Here are select shots from our high school senior portraits session / editorial fashion photoshoot.
